WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR PHONE DROPS INTO WATER

Image
Did you just drop your iPhone into a hot bowl of fail? Is your Galaxy swirling in the bottom of a toilet? Follow these instructions right now to give your phone its best chance of surviving immersion and avoiding water damage 1. Remove it.  The longer your phone stays underwater, the more likely it is to suffer a catastrophic failure. Get it out of there! NOTE: If your phone is someplace dangerous (like a clogged toilet), take your time and find a safe (and sanitary) way to retrieve it. You’ll still have a shot at saving it. 2. Power Down.  Shutting the phone off protects it from short circuiting. iPhone:  Hold the Lock button and the Home button simultaneously for 5 seconds for a hard shutdown. Android : Remove the battery to shut down instantly. 3. Make Way.  Water can quickly fill an entire phone. Make a path for it to get out by opening or removing all obstructions. Remove the battery (if possible) Remove any headphones Remove the SIM card Remove the memory card

HOW TO PREVENT YOUR PHONE SCREEN FROM BREAKING

Image
With smartphone screens getting bigger and bigger, dropping a phone on concrete floor is often a death sentence for the screen. While technological development had a big impact on scratch resistance, a massive amount of iphone or Android phone screens break on a daily basis. While the best protection from breaking your phones screen is to not drop it in the first place (duh), there are ways to protect it from breaking when it hits the ground. The solution: Glass screen protectors While plastic screen protectors were quite popular in the past, a recent trend is using  tempered glass screen protectors . But why would you put another layer of glass on top of your screen, which is already protected with a glass layer on top of it? HOW TO TAKE SCREEN SHOT ON YOUR ANDROID PHONE

Image
Once upon a time, in order to take a screenshot on an Android phone, you had to install the Android developer tools. These days, you can take screenshots on phones running Android 4.0 or later with the press of a couple buttons.  On most Android phones, you can take a screenshot by holding down the Sleep/wake button and the volume-down button simultaneously. Hold these buttons down until your screen flashes. The process differs on some phone models, though. For example, on Samsung’s Galaxy phones—and select phones from other manufacturers that feature a home button—hold down the power button and the home button until the screen flashes, as pictured above. If your Android phone has a home button, and if the standard Android method doesn’t work, then try this power-home button combination. To view your screenshot, go to the Gallery app, then look for the “Screenshot” album. Tap it to open it, then tap the screenshot you took to view that screenshot. Press the Share button—repres

FOUR WAYS TO FIX AN UNRESPONSIVE IPHONE HOME BUTTON

Image
If your iPhone button is not responding and you're out of warranty, here are four things you can do to fix it. No matter how anal you are about keeping your iPhone safe and intact, there is still a chance your home button will eventually suffer the effects of normal wear and tear. The iPhone 5, which features a change to the anatomy of the home button, may solve this problem, but previous iPhone models are still susceptible to this common phenomenon. If you're still within the provided one-year warranty and your phone doesn't show signs of accidental damage, head on over to Apple. As long as you're covered by warranty, the company will replace your phone or perform any necessary repairs. Those who got hit with the home button plague  after  their warranty period can give the following four fixes a try. Just be warned: if you improperly perform methods 2 and 3 and damage your phone, we don't take responsibility. Method 1: Calibrate (and possib
